RoastPin Privacy Policy

Last updated September 1, 2026

RoastPin is operated by Apricity Group LLC. We collect only the information needed to run the Alaska coffee map, accept reviews and community corrections, respond to messages, and improve the service. Browsing RoastPin does not require a consumer account.

Location

Location is optional. RoastPin requests device location when you use nearby/follow features, enable visit prompts, or start in-app navigation. For ordinary map/follow and visit-prompt behavior, your location may be used on your device to center the map and detect a nearby coffee stop. When you explicitly start or refresh in-app navigation, RoastPin sends the route origin and selected coffee-shop destination to the configured routing service so it can calculate the driving route, distance, ETA, and maneuver steps. The current consumer build does not send raw GPS coordinates in the review submission, does not store a continuous precise-location history in the RoastPin review database, and does not treat device GPS as trusted proof of a visit. An ordinary review remains unverified unless a separate trusted server-side verification mechanism issues a verification receipt.

You can deny location access and continue browsing, searching, saving shops, submitting missing-shop suggestions, and sending listing corrections. Publishing a review requires a signed-in RoastPin account, but location permission is not required for an ordinary unverified review.

Reviews and community submissions

Publishing a review requires a signed-in RoastPin account. RoastPin stores the authenticated account ownership identifier with the review, along with the ratings you provide and any optional structured review details you choose to add, such as wait-time information, price paid, return preference, or fixed quick tags. The consumer review form does not publish arbitrary free-text comments. Published review scores may be shown publicly and used to calculate shop ratings. Any discovery feature specifically labeled as verified uses only reviews backed by a trusted server-created verification receipt; ordinary reviews are not represented as verified. If you submit a missing coffee shop or listing correction, the information you provide is stored for moderation and directory maintenance.

Messages and optional contact information

The in-app Contact form stores the message you send. Your name and reply email are optional and are used only to respond to your request or manage the related support record. RoastPin does not require contact information in order to browse the app.

Information kept on your device

Saved coffee shops, visit-prompt preferences, a random app session key, and duplicate-submission safeguards may be stored in your browser or installed web app storage. This helps RoastPin work without requiring a consumer account. Clearing RoastPin site/app data removes this information. If you permanently delete a signed-in RoastPin account, the app also attempts to clear RoastPin-owned local device data as part of that deletion flow.

Sharing, advertising, and third-party services

RoastPin does not sell personal information and the current consumer build does not include advertising or cross-app tracking SDKs. RoastPin uses Base44 for application hosting/backend services and OpenStreetMap map data/tiles. If you start in-app navigation, the configured open routing service processes the route origin and selected destination to return route geometry and driving instructions. If you choose an external directions fallback, the destination is handed off to the maps provider you select, such as Apple Maps or Google Maps. These third-party services may receive standard network/device information as part of serving their content and are governed by their own privacy practices.

Retention and deletion

Reviews, listing submissions, corrections, and operational records are retained while they are needed to operate, moderate, protect, or maintain RoastPin, unless they are removed earlier. Contact messages are retained as needed to respond and maintain support records. If you have a signed-in RoastPin account, the account-deletion control in My RoastPin removes your account, user-owned reviews, linked verification receipts if any exist, saved-location records, contact messages, and coffee-shop submissions from the RoastPin backend. Any affected shop rating/count is recalculated after review deletion. The app also attempts to clear RoastPin-owned local device data during account deletion. If you cannot sign in, you can start an account-deletion request from RoastPin’s public Delete Account page. Limited information may be retained only when reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or another legitimate obligation.

Questions or privacy requests

Use RoastPin’s Contact page for privacy questions and correction requests. For account deletion, use the signed-in control in My RoastPin or the public Delete Account page if you cannot access your account.
